Simulator Update Required

Dear valued Zephyr customer,

What's happening?

On October 3rd, 2025, Unity (the game engine we use to power the Zephyr simulation) notified all developers that a vulnerability was discovered and patched. This patch requires a rebuild of all applications and an update to be applied to end users.

From Unity:

There is no evidence of any exploitation of the vulnerability nor has there been any impact on users or customers.

Unity has worked in close collaboration with our platform partners who have taken further steps to secure their platforms and protect end users.

Consumer Guidance:

Keep your devices and applications updated, enable automatic updates, and maintain current antivirus software

We constantly monitor security advisories for all of our tools and regularly apply updates especially those with security fixes. Keeping your Little Arms Launcher and Zephyr Simulator up to date ensures that you have the latest and most secure version of our software.

What's next?

The next simulator update on October 23, 2025 will include this security patch. We advise you to perform this update as soon as possible.

If you manage a lab of computers or group of organization computers, we advise you to apply and distribute these updates as soon as they are available.

What if I have additional questions or issues updating?

A full uninstall/reinstall of the Launcher and Simulator will resolve most issues
  • Uninstall the simulator:

    1. Open the Little Arms Launcher

    2. Login

    3. Click on the three dots next to the green button on the Zephyr home screen

    4. Click "uninstall"

    5. Let the Launcher finish uninstalling

  • Uninstall the Launcher (and Simulator if available)

    1. Windows

      1. Press the "Windows" key to bring up the start menu

      2. Type "uninstall"

      3. Click on the "Add or remove programs" option in the start menu

      4. Scroll through the list of programs until you see "Little Arms Launcher"

      5. Click on the Little Arms Launcher option in the list

      6. Click "Uninstall" and let Windows finish uninstalling

      7. If Zephyr wasn't uninstalled in Step 1, scroll through the list of programs until you see "Zephyr"

      8. If you see "Zephyr" click on it and click "Uninstall" and let Windows finish uninstalling

    2. Mac

      1. Locate the "Little Arms Launcher" Application (typically in the "Applications" folder)

      2. Drag it into the Trash

      3. If Zephyr wasn't uninstalled in Step 1, locate the "Zephyr" Application

      4. Drag it into the Trash

      5. Right click the "Trash" and click "Empty Trash"

  • Reinstall the Launcher and Simulator

    1. Reinstall the Little Arms Launcher

    2. Select a valid location to install your apps when prompted (avoid installing to cloud spaces like OneDrive or Google Drive)

    3. Once the Launcher is installed, open it, login and install Zephyr
