# Vertical Drift Fix on Controller

To fix the vertical drift or unintended elevation gain when yawing on a controller, please go through the following steps. **These steps will need to be repeated on any computer you fly on, as the settings are stored on the local machine, not on the controller.**

1. Navigate to the main menu in Zephyr
2. Click the Controller Menu
3. Click "Clear Calibration"
4. Click "Quick Calibration"
   1. Run through the Quick-Calibrate. This will have you move both sticks up and to the left at the same time, then both sticks down and to the right at the same time. Please follow the on screen instructions closely.
5. Now, still in the controller menu, on the right side, set both deadzone numbers to .05

   ```
6. Click on **both** "Set" buttons under both circles to ensure both stick values are set properly.
7. You can now return to normal Zephyr operation. Again, these steps will need to be repeated on any additional computers you fly on.
## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.
Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:
```
GET https://wiki.zephyr-sim.com/troubleshooting/controllers/vertical-drift-fix-on-controller.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```
`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.
Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
